ICE @ Gaylord

The Gaylord Texan is a large resort near DFW. Micah, Meme, "Aunt" Pat and I spent a couple of hours there yesterday. It is a balmy 78 degrees in the middle of the hotel. There is lots to see.

Here is Micah and a train set.

Meme, Micah, and Aunt Pat.

In the ICE exhibit, there is 2 million pounds of ice sculpted into Peanuts characters.
Micah and I enjoyed the 10 degrees temperature in the large room. Meme and Aunt Pat were freezing, but Micah and I were in one jacket.

There were snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, of course he was more interested in them.

Micah getting sleepy...

and sleepy...

and he's out.

Too much excitement for the little boy.

He woke up in time for lunch. This boy will not miss a meal.

We walked all over the hotel, there was so much to see. This was the riverwalk.

Merry Christmas!

Happy boy!

He was such a good boy, considering we spent 6 hours there. He loves being in new environments.

Micah's First Christmas

As a family we decided to adopt a 5 year old boy from the angel tree. Anyways, the boy asked for a tricycle, so after Pops put the bike together, we went to take it to Rowlett Needy Children's house. Meme stayed and babysat Micah, and this is what I came home too. So now if the baby is cranky, we put him in his box.

Momma, Meme and AnT had a great time building our gingerbread house when Micah went to bed.

Sumo Micah!

Eating greek yogurt, looking good. Watch out for Sumo Patrick behind you!!

Micah showing off his Christmas present from Meme and Pops... a plastic John Deere chainsaw.

As soon as he saw the camera he started smiling. Yes, I know I am in trouble.

Micah at 7 Months!

Micah and his many rolls!

You talkin to me?

Well... Micah and I have been in Texas for a month now. Which also means, one month down, and 5 to go until Daddy comes home! Micah has been growing so much. He is one amazing little boy. He likes to drink water out of sippy cups and if we let him, he loves to drink out of regular glasses and does a good job at it. Also, no one can eat in front of him; he wants to eat also. Sometimes he gets to eat what we are having, but mostly he snacks on Cherrios and little puff snacks. When I put a puff in his mouth, he makes yummy noises and wiggles his feet. It's pretty cute.
Fortunately, Matt got moved to a different room and gets a really good wifi connection, so now we can Skype more often. We did this morning and the connection was amazing. Micah gets so excited when he hears Daddy's voice and sees his face. I am very thankful for Skype.
Micah has yet to roll over, or feel the need to be mobile in any form. He is quite happy just feeling the textures around him.
Micah is becoming much more social. He will give strangers smiles now, and will let a lot of people hold him. But, for the most part he clings to me. I think it is his way of showing that he misses his daddy. The month before we left Washington, he was usually sleeping from 6:30 pm to 3:30 - 4 am for his first feeding. He has only done that a couple of times since he got here. He wakes up quite a bit at night.
This past weekend we spent 4 days with no hot water. I had to go to a friend's house for showers and we had to boil water to bathe Micah. Also, my parents road has been torn up for a week, waiting to be paved, which is causing a lot of dust and dirt in the house. Micah's sinuses are not enjoying the dirt.
Even with all of the changes in Micah's life, he is the content and happy baby. He definitely helps to reduce my stress. He is a precious beautiful baby.

Very proud of his Daddy!
